Two-Day Workshop: Silk Painting

This event has passed

£65

On this immersive two day workshop participants will learn the full process of creating their own silk painting from stretching the canvas to adding the beautiful bold colours, whilst looking at the theme of ‘Spring’ to help guide their designs.

This technique of silk painting originates from France and relies on strong linework to act as a barrier for water-based paints which are easily blended together. On the first day participants will discover the materials’ properties and use a pre-drawn design to practise, leading onto creating their own design to paint on the second day.

This course is suitable for anyone over the age of 12 whether they have art experience or not. The technique has a likeness to watercolours and wax batik. All materials are provided at the workshop.

Saturday 13:00 – 17:00
Sunday 10:00 – 15:00 (including afternoon tea 14:00-15:00)
