We currently collect and process the following information:

How we get the personal information and why we have it.

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To subscribe to our mailing list
  • To book event tickets
  • To map creative & cultural businesses across the district

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Where they opt in, contact subscribers to our mailing list about news, events and opportunities
  • Contact event participants with information about their bookings with us
  • Where they opt in, to map creative & cultural businesses across the district to provide more sector visibility and increase networking and business opportunities

We will not share your information with anyone else.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Skipton Town Hall at skiptontownhall@northyorks.gov.uk or on 01756 706397.

(f) We have a legitimate interest.

Legal obligation – personal data will be kept and processed (held) as part of contracts and financial records relating to private hire functions and performance agreements for the standard 7 year period required for financial data storage. If a debt is outstanding for a longer period of time data will be kept for up to one year past the full payment date if necessary and appropriate (e.g. in relation to court proceedings or an agreed payment plan)

Your information is securely stored.

We hold your name and contact information until you opt out of our newsletter or cultural mapping lists. We will annually review data on our cultural mapping database and dispose of it from our electronic records if it is no longer relevant.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
