Featuring Matilda Lloyd, BBC Young Musician Brass Final winner 2014

£20.00 | Under 19 £1.00 | Under 30 £5.00

For the latest concert in our season for 2021/22, Skipton Music welcomes five of the UK’s top young professional trumpeters with a brilliantly entertaining programme that celebrates all things trumpet…

Formed by Matilda Lloyd, international star soloist and BBC Young Musician Brass Final winner in 2014, the Solus Trumpet Ensemble perform on a variety of different trumpets – from piccolo trumpet to flugelhorn to bass trumpet – in various combinations from solo to trio to quintet.

The concert features a range of works by revered composers of brass music such as Gabrieli, Tomasi and Brandt, as well as new arrangements of pieces never before heard on brass. The programme travels from the US to England and then all around Europe, spanning continents and musical periods and finishing off with a jazzy arrangement of the spiritual “Battle of Jericho”!
