Skipton Comedy Live: March

This event has passed

Join us as Plane Comedy present some of the best stand-up the UK has to offer.

Our regular MC Colin Manford (yes he happens to be Jason’s little brother) will be hosting three fantastic comedians that will have your sides splitting.

The Hub theatre bar will be open from 7pm and throughout the evening, serving a selection of locally sourced refreshments.

March Line-up

Aaron Simmonds
Aaron has been failing to stand-up for 32 years; luckily he is far better at comedy than standing up! Aaron has cerebral palsy and is a professionally-trained personal trainer, as well as a former international basketball player and world champion powerlifter. He was a BBC New Comedy Award finalist in 2017. He also won Jewish Comedian Of The Year in the same year. His TV credits include The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Guessable (Comedy Central) and BackChat (Dave). Aaron performed his critically-acclaimed debut shows, Disabled Coconut and Hot Wheels, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 and 2021. He was an Amused Moose Comedy Award Best Show finalist and was nominated for Best Comedy Show in the Broadway World UK Edinburgh Fringe Awards in 2019. He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people’s belly buttons, which gives him stories to tell, and a sore neck!

Steffen Peddie
Fondly known as The Big Man of Northern Comedy, Steffen is famous for playing Big Keith in BBC2’s hit comedy sitcom Hebburn. Returning to stand up after an eight year break as a Pro Wrestler has found Steffen a little older, wiser and bigger than before, but still ready to find the lighter side of any subject that an audience member can throw at him. Prior to his time away Steffen had been performing for several years in the North of England. An original member of Newcastle Upon Tyne’s “Near The Knuckle” team with such luminaries as Anvil Springstein, Vladamir McTavish, Gavin Webster and Ross Noble, he brings a different approach to whatever venue he performs at. Steffen has been described as the worlds Greatest Comedian, Wrestler, Scout Leader and fantasist of his generation!

Jack Carroll
Jack became an overnight stand-up sensation after reaching the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. His first audition on the ITV show has received over 12 million views on YouTube so far. Jack eventually came second on the show at just 14 years old and has since worked with the likes of Jason Manford and Vic Reeves, whilst also performing stand-up on shows such as ITV1’s Sunday Night At The Palladium and It’s Been A Funny Old Week. He’s also appeared on CBBC shows such as The Dog Ate My Homework and the 4 O’Clock Club. Jack, whose cerebral palsy is often the subject of his act, was awarded a Pride of Britain Award in 2012 in the Teenager of Courage category. Jack opened for Jason Manford at three of his tour shows in 2010 as well as performing with him in 2013, opening Jason’s tour show First World Problems at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Jack has several television credits which include CBBC’s Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind Up, ITV’s This Morning, Sky’s Trollied, BBC1’s Big School and BBC1’s The One Show.
