Pride Prom

with DJ's Kiya Major and Michael Upson

This event has passed

£5

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Pride Prom. This decision was not made lightly, and we sincerely apologise to those of you that were looking forward to the event – we share in your disappointment. Despite our best efforts, the event faced low ticket sales, making it unfeasible to proceed as planned. The event would not have met the expectations of those who would have attended.

We want to assure you that our commitment to fostering inclusivity and providing safe spaces for celebration remains steadfast. While this year’s event will not take place, we are eager to engage in conversations to explore how we can improve future events. Your feedback, ideas, and support are invaluable to us.

We also encourage everyone to support and participate in the other Pride Month events we have planned as we stand together in support of our local LGBTQIA+ community.

An alternative, inclusive prom for LGBTQIA+ young people, friends and allies.

Pride Prom is a fun evening for young LGBTQIA+ people, friends and allies to celebrate their individual identities in a safe and welcoming space where they are free to express themselves without judgement or discrimination.

Entertaining you for the first set of the evening will be DJ Kiya Major going back-to-back with the budding mixmasters from the Pride Prom DJ workshops (book separately). We want to hear you making some noise for the new DJs!

Returning by popular demand for the second set is Leeds-based DJ Michael Upson, following his sensational performance at last year’s Skipton Pride.

Soft drink mocktail bar and snacks will be available.

Dress code: You do you! Anything goes… wear a ballgown, dress as a unicorn, or throw on your jeans and a hoodie – whatever makes you feel happy!

There will be a chance to make your own Pride protest button badges inspired by protest ephemera from the Craven Museum collection.

Our friends from Skipton Library will be creating a display of Pride themed literature and resources.
