The Name of the Dame
The Loose Cannons Presents, with support from Silky
Fri 28th March 2025 7:30pm
Dames, detectives, stylish hats, “car chases”… this parody of the film noir genre has got a gag rate that fires faster than a Tommy-gun and is marginally less painful. If you like Airplane, the oeuvre of Mel Brooks, dicey puns and sight gags, this show is probably for you.
Written by author & actor Adam Perrott and comic & improviser, Kate McCabe, this hour-long, gut-busting play is now touring the UK after an enthusiastically received run at The Edinburgh Fringe 2023.
A relentlessly funny two-hander that audiences call ‘marvellous’, ‘brilliant’, and ‘easily the best show I’ve seen at The Fringe’.
You’ll not experience growth or learn anything about the World or yourself. That’s the Loose Cannons guarantee.
Support from Silky; Despite possessing one of the silliest names in comedy – and there’s been a few – Liverpudlian in exile Silky has managed to emerge as one of the very best comics in the business. He has completed two consecutive sell-out tours of the UK with his mix of classic one-liners and off-the-cuff banter without parallel. At only his fourth ever gig he was on BBC1 in the final of the 1995 BBC New Comedy Awards alongside Lee Mack (Mock The Week, Not Going Out) and Julian Barratt (Mighty Boosh). Silky has had several TV appearances and performed internationally all over Europe and China, the Philippines, the Gulf, Singapore, US, Australia and at Glastonbury Festival.
