Dig & Discover: Festival of Archaeology

Fri 25th July 2025 10.00am & 2.00pm

Free drop-in

Craven Museum will be celebrating The Festival of Archaeology 2025 with a family Dig & Discover Day.

The theme of this year’s festival is Archaeology and wellbeing so come along and join us in our Castle Critters room for a range of archaeology-based family activities. You’ll be able to excavate artefacts from our dig boxes, contribute to our community Lego Build and explore local communities of the past through object handling and crafts!

Suitable for ages 6 to 12 years old.

There are two sessions:
10am – 12pm
2pm – 4pm

These Dig & Discover sessions will be taking place in The Hub and The Education Room. Please ask our front desk staff on the day for directions to either of the rooms.

Knaresborough Castle will be celebrating The Festival of Archaeology 2025 as well with a family Dig & Discover Day on the 24th July.
