Age 5-9
Arts Award Discover
Arts Award Discover is the introductory level for Arts Award aimed at young people aged 5 to 9, but open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 25. In this award, participants take part in arts activities and identify different types of art, find out about an artist or craftsperson and share what they have learned and experienced.
Self-Led Arts Award Discover
Skipton Town Hall offers an Arts Award Discover which individuals can complete while exploring Craven Museum! Visit us any time the museum is open, purchase a booklet and borrow an Arts Award Discover bag to complete the award. (The current cost is £5.50, but this is subject to change based on Trinity College London certificate costs.) We recommend at least an hour to finish the full booklet.
During school holidays, we sometimes run “Arts Award Discover Days” with staff-led art activities to complete alongside a booklet. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for details about these!
Please note, young children will require adult supervision and support whilst taking part.
Successful participants will receive a certificate from Trinity College London which can be collected from Skipton Town Hall or sent out by post.
Arts Award Discover for Schools
We are delighted to now be offering Arts Award Discover as a bookable workshop for schools, available from September 2024 onwards! As well as a museum trail and artist research, this also includes staff-led art activities inspired by the museum collection.
This workshop costs £95.00, plus certificate costs for each child. (Please see the Arts Award website for the most up to date certificate prices.)
Available for one class (up to 30 pupils) at once.
Please email cravenmuseum@northyorks.gov.uk to request an enquiry form or ask for further details.
