Our regular MC Colin Manford (yes he happens to be Jason’s little brother) will be hosting three fantastic comedians that will have your sides splitting.

The Hub theatre bar will be open throughout the evening, serving a selection of locally sourced refreshments. Bring your friends along for fantastic, festive night out!

December line-up – Harriet Dyer, George Lewis, Danny Sutcliffe

Harriet Dyer

BBC3, BBC Live at The Fringe, BBC Radio 4, BBC Knock Knock, BBC Ouch, Absolute Radio, The Russell Howard Hour is an award winning comedian, writer and mental health advocate. 

Harriet has been a full time comic since 2013. She’s had numerous critically acclaimed shows, works for the majority of big clubs and festivals, regularly gigs overseas, and prides herself in being totally original! – An experience to behold, if you will. 

Harriet has bipolar disorder and does a lot of comedy work around mental health. Her debut, solo, hour-long show Barking At Aeroplanes at Edinburgh Fringe about her struggles and adventures with mental health received critical acclaim, resulting in a tour.

George Lewis

George Lewis is a stand-up comedian and writer from Stockport. George has appeared on the BBC New Talent Hotlist, was the winner of Celebrity Mastermind (specialist subject: Oasis), hosted the Britpopcast podcast (Radio X) and Top Gear Extra Gear, and has appeared as a regular on ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show.

A talented comedy writer, George has written for some of the biggest shows on TV and radio, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Hypothetical, BBC Radio 4. George also has a weekly football column in The Times. Early in his career, he had successes in several new act competitions, he won the prestigious Amused Moose National New Comic Award, as well as Nando’s New Comedian of the Year, The Brighton Squawker Award, the Comedy Cafe New Act Award and the Comedy Knights Fresh Comedian of the year.

George is witty, self-depricating and down right hilarious with plenty of intuitive subversive humour. Whether he’s talking about his adventures in truancy or hot oil massage, he interacts with his audience so well that you’d think he’d invited them himself. Lewis has indisputably funny bones.

Danny Sutcliffe

Danny Sutcliffe is a stand up comedian from Manchester, England. He has been performing stand up for over 10 years and has only been knocked unconscious once – that was his best gig. With his unique style and ability he has been recognised as one of the most gifted emerging talents on the UK comedy scene. His set consists of a mixture of clever one liners and slick jokes that leaves you aching from laughing, definitely one of those acts that makes a lasting impression.

In 2011 he won the Funhouse Comedy Champions of Champions and quickly went on to become a finalist in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2012, followed that same year by winning the Off The Rails Comedian of the Year and Rock Radio Comedian of the Year. In 2014 he also won the Smacked Arse Search For A Star. He is a regular on the festival circuit having performed at Kendal Calling & Beat-Herder – he’s also a favourite at NABD Biker Rallies.
